The new Blazer Bay 2550 GTS – Reviewed April 2023

If you’re in the market for a high-performance bay boat, the Blazer Bay 2550 GTS is definitely worth considering. This boat is built to handle rough waters with ease and provide a smooth ride for anglers and boaters alike. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the features and benefits of the Blazer Bay 2550 GTS and why it’s a great choice for serious fishermen.

   Performance:

The Blazer Bay 2550 GTS we reviewed was powered by a 350HP Suzuki outboard engine that provides plenty of power for cruising or fishing. The boat’s moderate-V hull design is built to handle choppy waters with ease and provide a comfortable ride for passengers. It also has a 78-gallon fuel tank that ensures you’ll have plenty of fuel for longer trips.

   Design:

One of the standout features of the Blazer Bay 2550 GTS is its spacious design. The boat has a large cockpit with plenty of room for anglers to move around and fish. The boat also has a generous amount of storage space for tackle and gear, including a large forward storage compartment, multiple rod holders, and ample deck space. The boat’s raised casting platform and seating options make it easy to fish comfortably from different positions.

Now, there’s one thing about this boat that may be the best we’ve ever seen on any boat in this class, and that is the bilge access. There is a dedicated access hatch that is bigger than most, and there is additional access under the rear jump seat. It is easy to get to the bilge pumps, water separator, and other bilge components. Easier access, easier to maintain.

   Fishability:

The Blazer Bay 2550 GTS is designed with serious fishermen in mind. The boat has 2 large oval livewells with optional clear lids or standard double sided fiberglass lids. The clear lids look great, making it easy to keep an eye on your bait. This boat also has plenty of rod storage options, including gunwale-mounted rod holders and an under-gunnel rod rack. 2550 moderate-V hull design and low gunwales make it easy to fish in any condition. We pulled the 2550 on to a sandbar to check the draft… 13 Inches with 2 people on the boat, gear and around 40 gallons of fuel. Not bad at all for a boat in this size class.

   Final Thoughts:

Overall, the Blazer Bay 2550 GTS is a high-performance bay boat that’s built to handle rough waters and provide a comfortable ride for anglers and boaters alike. It’s shallow draft makes it a serious option for skinny water, getting back in the cuts will be no problem. The Blazer Bay 2550 is a top-of-the-line bay boat that is designed for serious anglers who demand the best in performance, speed, and comfort. With its impressive features and customizable options, this boat is a great choice for anyone looking to take their fishing experience to the next level.  If you’re in the market for a bay boat, the Blazer Bay 2550 GTS is definitely worth considering.
